The Institute performs interdisciplinary activities in a number of fields (technology, agriculture, human medicine and biology) using state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment (CT, MR, PET/CT, PET/MR, ultrasonography, cardiac catheterization laboratory, NOGA-mapping, operating theatres, flow cytometry, diagnostic haematology laboratory).

The aim of the establishers was to use the imaging and radiation therapy equipment for educational (B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. levels) purposes, for research in a number of disciplines as well as providing healthcare services in diagnostic imaging and oncology by continuously being in operation.
